Commissary- Meat

Today I spent all day in the enrichment center. This is my favorite center because I know that my efforts here are, what I to be believed, the most helpful. I was on meat duty today for the cats, which is always a test on my part. Even though I have done meat once before, today I was a little more independent with it and did more of it. You have to have a pretty strong stomach for this area, luckily for me I do not get grossed out easily, plus I had not eaten much that day. It takes a little bit of time to actually get into it and get passed what you are touching and cutting up, but you soon realize it not to be too bad. It really amazes me with how much they spoil their animals. They truly get the finest meat and make sure that their animals get the best cut of the meat. For example, when I was preparing the fox’s diet I had to cut up 227g of beef and had to cut up small pieces of the better part of the meat and make sure to trim the fat and that the pieces were cut up small enough for him to chew. It made me laugh that he probably gets better cuts of meat then I do.
