Katz Club: Week 2 Day 2

May 22

Today was a really fun day and a great learning experience. Although today was also a little bit slow, I was able to see how things ran around the diner. Brad, the barista, showed me how to make a cappuccino and he really was able to show me what he does on a normal day behind the coffee counter. Most of the time, he acts as a barista but on days where it is a little bit slow, he will act as a host. I also was able to meet a few of the waiters. I met Alex and Chris. Most of the time, I was bussing Alex's tables. I would take away the dirty dishes and silverware, and then I would reset the table. Between bussing, I would have various jobs such as polishing some of the glass and stamping the Katz Club logo on some of the bags for an upcoming party. When I wouldn't be doing those jobs, I would still be helping Brad out behind the coffee counter. I also ran food a little bit. I started to learn the table numbers. It was a lot easier than fire as Katz Club only seats about forty people. My second day at Katz Club was definitely a nice learning experience.
